On Christmas morning we began to open presents. My first present from my now fiance was a clue for a scavenger hunt he planned. He sent me to 5 locations throughout the house, each held a new clue. I finally ended at where I thought was my Christmas present, a new set of golf clubs. The gift was amazing and I thought we were done, but he told me to open the pocket of the club bag. Inside I found colored golf clubs which I thought were wonderful and placed them back in the pocket.
ReplyDeleteHe looked at me funny and said, "Look at the golf balls I got you. " I proceeded to give him a strange look and took out the balls again when I noticed they were inscribed, Karrlie will you marry me? When I looked up he was on one knee with a ring he designed himself. Of course I said yes and am taking golf lessons so that we can play on our honeymoon!!

Hello my name is Kaitlin. I wanted to share my story with you about my fiance's engagement to me. It all started on the day before Thanksgiving, I had three of my friends over and my boyfriend was acting strange he kept pacing and wouldn't stop talking. We asked him plenty of times. "What's wrong with you, are you okay" We weren't sure what was wrong with him, and he wouldn't tell us. He went to bed while I was still hanging out with my friends, then he came back out 20 minutes later and said "I can't sleep." My friend's left for the night and we went to bed. I awoke on Thanksgiving morning I rolled over and gave him a kiss, he started to tell me "I want to be with you for the rest of my life and marry you and so on and so forth." I thought nothing of this since we talk about it all the time. He rolled over and got something out of the night stand and it was a ring. I started to cry and said "yea yes of course." It turns out his mom had given him her ring the night before. The one her father had gotten her back in WW2, when it was rare to have those kinds of rings made. He wasn't sure when to give it to me. It was so cute when he told me why he was upset last night. So I have a little piece of history on my finger. It only fits my pinky, she has small hands, but I love it all the same. We will get it resized someday. It was the best wake up anyone can receive in a life time. Our wedding day is August 14th and I am the hapiest woman in the world. Thanks for listening.

ReplyDeleteone day i came home dead tired from work and my boyfriend was already home(this was very strange cause he never got home first)well he said he wasn't feeling well and asked me to go to the store and get him some medicine. after some complaining how tired i was i finally went to the store. when ever i got back home there was atleast 200 candles buring and all the lights were out, there was soft music playing and a trail of rose petals leading from the front door to the bedroom. the petals made a huge heart on the bed and in the middle of the bed was a ring box. my boyfriend suddenly appeared from the closet and grabbed the ring box, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. it was the most romantic event in my life. thanks so much for reading

ReplyDeleteMy now-fiance, John, and I were in Atlantic City and decided to go out to dinner. We had a wonderful dinner and a pitcher of sangria at Cube Libre. After dinner, we decided to take a walk, but we strangely enough left from the side entrance of the casino. This exit put on a side street in Atlantic City, which seemed a bit "shady." As we walked down the block, this random guy hanging out by the wall approaches John and asked him "do i know you?" Then said "oh, nevermind." So, we continued walking. Then, John turns around and tells the guy, "maybe you do...whats up?" I am thinking, 'why is John talking to this stranger???!!!' John starts a conversation with this guy and he learns that the guy has a limo and can give us a ride. I am against the idea of getting in a random car of a stranger we met on a side street in AC, so I tell John NO THANK YOU. But, of course, John keeps talking to him. John asks him how much, and the driver says for $20 he will take us anywhere we want to go. I respond to John by saying, 'LETS WALK AWAYYYYYYYYY.' But John wanted to get in the limo with this strange guy. I couldn't understand what was wrong with him. So, of course, i thought if i kept walking away, John would just HAVE TO follow me. So, i walked down the block to the corner...crossed the street...and walked up the block back the boardwalk. This whole time John is still trying to talk to me about the limo and how we should do it. Now, bear in mind, at Cuba Libre we did have a pitcher of sangria...so i was seriously beginning to question his judgement. LOL.
Finally, after i walk up the opposite side of the street, I hear John say, "its okay Rob, just show her." Now, John's brother-in-law's name is rob, so i was confused and turned around. I turn to find the limo driver holding a dozen roses saying they are for me. But, of course, coming from New York City where people commonly try to sell roses in restaurants and on the street, I really didnt want part of this. So, i told the shady limo guy "NO THANK YOU." I continued to try to keep on walking away, but this time, John cornered me. Finally, John told the limo driver to turn the flowers around.
THANK GOODNESS, John wrote a note and put it in an envelope with MY NAME ON IT that was ATTACHED TO the flowers. Once i saw that, a 'lightbulb' went off in my head and i was like oooooooooooooo.... I felt a bit foolish, and I got in the limo.
In the limo, we drove around AC. John told me how much he loved me and wanted to spend his life with me and proposed with a BEAUTIFUL and PERFECT ring. We then opened champagne to celebrate and soon after told our parents the good news!

My boyfriend (now fiancee) and I went to Grizzly's for our weekly "2 for 1" burger night on Tuesday. I was joking around with him telling him how I wished my last name was shorter because I was tired of scribbling it out at work all the time. He excused himself to the bathroom and was gone and aweful long time! When he came back he said "So, you want to be mine forever?" I said "Of course! Why wouldn't I?" He had me close my eyes and when I opened them there was a velvet bag infront of me. I opened it and inside was the ring I had told him I was looking at months ago. He had had it in his car for 21/2 months waiting for the right time! He handed it to me and I handed it back giggling. He said "Oh um..there was a question I've been meaning to ask you" I got all giggly and blushy at this point and he asked me to marry him. I of course said yes! Then he asked "You mean you don't want to think about it?" That's a joke! I'd been wanting this since I met him!

I would like to share my story.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I have to tell you my fiancé (now) is the person who can not hide from me at all even if he tries. (sooo cute!)
One day, I told my boyfriend that one of my friends got engaged this week and she wants to show me her ring. But he suggested me to meet her next week. (Uh oh.. is that a hint?)
Then that Saturday, he called and asked me to come to his place not too early. He even called me four times to make sure that I was not coming before 4PM (hum. strange... Usually he called me several time and asked me "baby, when are you coming?"). Then he said he wanted to go to beach for sunset on very clouded day. (very strange..) I had the feeling. So, I wore my new dress just for in case.
I got his place around 6 PM, which was later than he asked me to be. He had disappointed face. Then He asked me to change to comfortable clothes. (Oh, maybe my guess was wrong?) He took me to the dinner and ordered me the most expensive dish on the menu. After dinner he insisted on going to beach even though it was already dark and the weather got worse. It was almost stormy. While he was driving, he kept his left hand in the pocket all the time. At this point, I knew. ^--^ But I pretended I don’t know.
He brought me to outside and held me from the back. Finally I saw the ring box in his hand and he asked me marry. That was happiest moment in my life.

ReplyDeleteMy name is Kathryn, I am the mother of an amazing 4 year old named Nolan. I was a single mother at age 20 and spent every waking moment tending to Nolan's every need.
ReplyDeleteWhen Nolan was 6 months old we met an amazing man named Eric. He was kind and loving and extremely generous when it came to caring for both Nolan and myself. He took his time getting to know us both before he truly committed himself to falling for us.
About a year ago Eric approached me about wanting to adopt Nolan, a process he explained would involve him also "adopting" me. He very sweetly asked if I would be willing to marry him so that he could be my husband and Nolan's Dad.
Our wedding day holds special meaning for many people. For Nolan this day will be not only life changing because he will gain an amazing Father but life changing because the little girl walking down the aisle beside him, Ava, will now be his cousin, both by law and marriage.
I think in our ever changing society where family takes many forms, both traditional and nontraditional, it is important to recognize those bonds that may be seemingly unorthodox but no less special. For the two children walking down the aisle, our families next generation, this event means they will now be bonded in a very special way for life.

My name is Ashley and I went with my boyfriend and his sister's family to the Cayman Islands last July for a vacation. We arrived Wednesday night and picked up the rental van. Craig, my boyfriend, wanted to go to the beach so we all piled into the van and went to a nearby beach. There was no one there but us and his sister's family. He took me for a walk down the beach while Melissa, her husband, and children stayed where they were. It was right as the sun was setting he stopped by a large rock and got down on one knee. He pulled the ring out and asked me to marry him right as the sun was setting. It was so beautiful. His sister knew that he was going to propose so she took a picture where we were (we're hidden behind the rock). The pictures I have I will treasure forever because they are of the exact spot he proposed on that sunset evening. Our wedding is coming up in October and his sister and her beautiful daughters are now in my wedding. I am so blessed to have such a loving fiance.

I am the mother of an amazing two year old who is going to be a flower girl in my brother's wedding. A special and sweet moment that comes to mind is when I was feeling sick one time. I felt so bad that I was barely able to sit up and was holding a cold wash rag on my forehead. My daughter came up to me and quietly asked to help. She took the wash rag from me and started wiping my forehead and holding it for me. Then, to top it off, she leaned over and whispered "I love you mommy." It was better than any medicine. :)
